Two main Panama seasons: the dry summer spell spanning over four months from December to April is the major tourist season over the wet rainy season that runs from may to November. This applies many to the Pacific Southern Part of Panama. Panama being a typical tropical climate, rarely receives extensive spells of rain. Rather a heavy shower followed by a bright sunshine is more common. While towards the Caribbean side downpours are rather common, but reduced during the months of February/March & September/October. Darien receives the maximum rainfall in Panama. The lowlands and the beaches are normally hotter, with mercury levels recording between 21 and 32 degrees centigrade. The mountains and foothills are cooler with temperature lying between 10 and 18 degrees. Panama is located below the Hurricane belt. Panama has lately attracted serious interest worldwide as an ideal tourist spot, thereby extending the tourist season over a few more months. |
